Safety
Safety ranks paramount to all other aspects of our product. Healthy Handles LLC spared absolutely no expense in our design. Our clamps are constructed from aluminum, not plastic (which would have been much cheaper).
- The handles themselves are also constructed from strong aluminum tubing, and then anodized for better appearance and to preserve the material year after year.
- The screws that hold the clamp to the stroller are treated with a special nylon patch that eliminates the potential loosening of the clamp after prolonged periods of vibration; this is why it is difficult to turn the screw.
- The clamp side that holds the bar will not open far enough to allow the bar to come out at any angle other than perfectly straight.
- To further eliminate disengagement of the handle, we included an “end stop” device. This device, called a pop-rivet, will not allow the bar to pass through the clamp unless it is in perfect alignment with a notch in the clamp.
- The notch in the clamp is in such a position that the handles would have to be strategically removed.
In addition to the above safety measures, it is our position that the stroller itself would bend or break in several locations prior to our handles breaking in any way. As you probably know, aluminum is somewhat flexible when it is thin, but when it is thick it is incredibly strong. Our bars will not bend under regular use, and simply won’t break. Our clamps will outlast your stroller, period.
You should be able to use all of the existing safety features of your current stroller with the exception of the older models built with a hand brake on the handlebar. (Do people really use that brake to slow themselves down?)
